Summary:
 

The Project Engineer manages Global Distribution projects by organizing and controlling project elements.  Serves as the Project Manager on all assigned Distribution Initiatives and Projects.  This position serves as the bridge between Project Management and all distribution resources including Engineering, IS, Operations and Support.

 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Distribution point person on leveraging Llamasoft software in strategic planning, cost analysis, methodology.  Subject matter expert within the organization on running models with the software.
  • Owns and manages the Simulation software.  Creates models and executes simulation to assist in the determination of significant changes and process improvements for the global network.
  • Serve as Project Manager as directed for all Global Distribution Initiatives and Projects.
  • Manage the Global Distribution Project Request process to include running the meetings, format, intake process and presentations.
  • Develops project objectives and project schedules after conferring with impacted members and management team.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements.
  • Determines project schedules by studying project plan and specifications; calculates time requirements and sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
  • Provides project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and recommending actions.
  • Provides leadership to the project team which includes engineering, operations, IS, procurement, and vendors.

Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • 6+ years of Project Management and industry knowledge 
  • 3+ years of distribution experience, preferably in multiple disciplines  
  • LLamasoft experience or other network modeling software experience
  • Simio or similar simulation software is a plus
  • Must have proven successful track record of executing small to large size capital projects
  • In depth knowledge of project management processes and project execution
  • Working knowledge of operations management and procedures, process improvement, as well as detailed knowledge Project Management 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and activities, frequently with deadlines
  • Position requires a high degree of internal knowledge of company functions, policies and procedures
