This position will provide technical hands on guidance to a team of highly talented individuals to create and launch digital commerce solutions globally. You are to also provide technical and project leadership for the establishment and operation of Columbia’s eCommerce systems. You will be responsible for managing the analysis, design, and integration of Columbia’s eCommerce web sites and application environments. With 4 brands and over 50 sites, your challenges (should you wish to accept this mission) will require your exceptional technical, interpersonal, project management and organizational skills to develop technical solutions which are aligned with Columbia’s go-to-market strategies.  


Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overall eCommerce technical architecture and integration in support of IT and eCommerce solutions objectives
  • Assembles eCommerce program technical team, identifies needed resources, assigns responsibilities and develops timeframes to facilitate successful completion of program activities and deliverables
  • Assisting departments with preparation of project charters and business cases and in particular helping departments adequately identify and describe IT requirements.
  • Determines eCommerce technical solution costs/ensures delivery on time and within budgetary guidelines
  • Responsible for compatibility and consistency with existing architectural and enterprise
  • Provides RFP support and assisting departments in evaluating vendor proposals
  • Develops, clarifies and manages the scope of the eCommerce technical program, defines contract deliverables and achieves targeted outcomes.
  • Ensure eCommerce systems requirements are achieved in a timely fashion and within budget guidelines
  • Stay abreast of current digital and eCommerce technologies and contributes and participates in the analysis and recommendation of new strategies and/or technologies to improve the e-commerce systems environment
  • Conduct complex technical feasibility studies and integration projects
  • Establish and set key project performance indicators and benchmarks for eCommerce system
  • Establish key monitors to insure performance SLAs are met by analyzing, interpreting and summarizing performance data and metrics
  • Ensure that project team and/or staff develop and maintain internal documentation; recommend and maintain technology related procedures and policies 

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as technical manager responsible over mid-size teams
  • A minimum of 4 years proven experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise class transactional eCommerce systems or equivalent experience in large technical environments
  • 3+ years of hands on digital technology experience working with ecommerce, CMS, web development or other related technologies
  • Experience working with ecommerce systems such as Demandware, Hybris, or other ecommerce systems is a plus
  • Experience with Adobe AEM, Sitecore, or other CMS systems
  • 4+ years of programming experience working with server side languages such as Java and .Net and a strong understanding of object oriented programming concept
  • 3+ years of programming experience working with front end technologies such as Javascript, HTML, CSS.
  • Experience with mobile and front end frameworks such as Bootstrap, React, Angular, and others
  • 4+ years of experience with REST Webservices
  • Experience with progressive and responsive web design
  • Experience with web performance tuning and load balancing, and caching
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL based databases
